DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1-20 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Lobo et al. (2013/0302585).
Lobo et al. discloses a method for injecting a vehicle component, comprising the steps of
providing a mold 14, 16, wherein the mold includes a mold cavity 30, a feeding port with a junction point 54, 56 in communication with the mold cavity 30;
sensing a pressure in the mold cavity by one or more pressure sensors [0022], and
injecting a gas into the mold cavity through the junction point until the mold cavity is sensed to have a first predetermined pressure from 620 to 828 kilopascals (90 to 120 pounds per square inch);
sensing and maintained the pressure in the mold cavity at the predetermined pressure [0022],
injecting a mixture 22 from the feeding port 54 into the mold cavity having the first predetermined pressure through the feeding port; and
venting a portion of the gas from the mold cavity through the junction point when the injection of the mixture is accomplished, [0022]-[0024].
Lobo et al. further discloses that one or more pressure relief valves may be provided to facilitate venting of pressurized fluid 52. A pressure relief valve may be in fluid communication with the mold cavity 30 and may have any suitable configuration, such as a mechanical valve that may open at a specific pressure or pressure range or an electronically controlled pressure relief valve [0023].
