Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 1, 7, 17, and 20 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by D1.
Regarding claim 1, 17, and 20, D1 teaches a method of exchanging media data(see § 4.4.2.1) the method comprising:
calculating a cumulative size of packets of a protocol data unit PDU, Set received from a source device (see page 2 PDU set size indicates total size of all PDUs);
determining a signaled size for the PDU Set (see page 2 lines 20-24, PSSize);
calculating a ratio between the cumulative size and the signaled size; and
sending data representative of the ratio to the source device (see page 2 lines 44-46, the difference between the IPv6 and IPv4 header size).
Regarding claim 7, the data representative of the ratio comprises data explicitly indicating the ratio (see page 2 lines 44-46, the difference between the IPv6 and IPv4 header size).
(a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 1, 7, 17, and 20 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Teyeb US 20250106656.
Regarding claim 1, 17, and 20, Teyeb teaches a method of exchanging media data the method comprising:
calculating a cumulative size of packets of a protocol data unit PDU, Set received from a source device (delta/full information (e.g., any of the total size information for the PDU set, [0331]);
determining a signaled size for the PDU Set (actual size of PDU set, [0333]);
calculating a ratio between the cumulative size and the signaled size; and
sending data representative of the ratio to the source device ( In an embodiment, in a case where the WTRU has indicated a different size (e.g., lower or higher) than the actual size of the PDU set in the first BSR the WTRU may have sent, the WTRU may include information in the second BSR indicating the difference, [0333]).
Regarding claim 7, the data representative of the ratio comprises data explicitly indicating the ratio (difference, [0333])
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 2-6, 8-16, 18, and 19 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
