Office Action

§102
DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Information Disclosure Statement The information disclosure statements (IDS) submitted on 1/8/25 and 11/19/25 are being considered by the examiner. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status. The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claim(s) 1 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Porta et al. (US 2013/0313013). With respect to claim 1, Figures 1-2 of Porta discloses flexible wiring comprising: a substrate (14); a plurality of electrically conductive traces (13) arranged in an array on a first side of the substrate, wherein each electrically conductive trace of the plurality of electrically conductive traces is elongated along a first direction (see Figure 1 – where the cross section is along the direction of the transmission line); and an electromagnetic shielding layer (15) on a second side of the substrate, the second side being opposite the first side (see Figure 1), wherein the electromagnetic shielding layer comprises a plurality of strips separated from one another (see Figure 5), and wherein each strip of the plurality of strips is elongated along a second direction that is different from the first direction (see Figure 6 – where the direction of 13 is different from the direction of 15). Allowable Subject Matter Claims 2-11 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims. Claims 12-20 appear to comprise allowable subject matter. Conclusion Prior Art not relied upon: Please refer to the references listed in attached PTO-892, which are not relied upon for the claim rejection, since these references are pertinent to the disclosure.
