DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 1 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Li et al. (US 2021/0112505 A1), as evidenced by 3GPP TS 36.211 V15.2.0 (2018-06), 3rd Generation Partnership Project; Technical Specification Group Radio Access Network; Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA); Physical channels and modulation (Release 15).
Regarding claim 1, Li appears to disclose a method in a first communication node for wireless communications, the method comprising:
transmitting via an air interface, first information (Fig. 2, 200, [0048] TX UE; [0002] disclosing in “wireless communication systems…information may be transmitted from one transmitting node, such as a transmitting TX UE, to one or more receiving wireless nodes, such as a receiving RX UE”; [0003] disclosing “Specifically, in 3GPP LTE systems, SL communications are performed on a subframe or slot basis. In the PHY layer, the SL control information is transmitted over the physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH)”) used for indicating K resource elements (REs), time-domain resources occupied by the K REs comprising M multicarrier symbols, wherein subcarrier spacings of any two REs among the K REs are the same, there exists a first multicarrier symbol among the M multicarrier symbols, and K and M are positive integers greater than 1 (it is inherent in the art that the PSCCH indicates the resources occupied by the physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH); [0003] disclosing “ The subframe structure for PSCCH and PSSCH is based on the cellular uplink transmission structure, more specifically, the basic structure of physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH)…3GPP LTE Rel-12 and Rel-13, all SL communications are based on Discrete Fourier Transform Spread (DFTS)-OFDM with subcarrier spacing of 15 kHz and a subframe/slot structure…The subframe/slot structure may comprise of 14 SC-FDMA symbols for PSSCH and PSCCH in LTE V2V sidelink.”; Fig. 4 and Fig. 5, [0077]-[0080] disclosing in Fig. 4 all of the REs have the same subcarrier spacing (i.e., same numerology) and in Fig. 5, the two symbols of the first set 410 have the same subcarrier spacing and any two of the second set of symbols have the same subcarrier spacing);
transmitting K modulation symbols respectively on the K Res ([0002] disclosing “information may be transmitted from one transmitting node, such as a transmitting TX UE, to one or more receiving wireless nodes, such as a receiving RX UE”; [0003] disclosing “the SL data information is carried over the physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH)”; [0003] disclosing “ The subframe structure for PSCCH and PSSCH is based on the cellular uplink transmission structure, more specifically, the basic structure of physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH)…3GPP LTE Rel-12 and Rel-13, all SL communications are based on Discrete Fourier Transform Spread (DFTS)-OFDM with subcarrier spacing of 15 kHz and a subframe/slot structure…The subframe/slot structure may comprise of 14 SC-FDMA symbols for PSSCH and PSCCH in LTE V2V sidelink.”), each of the K modulation symbols belonging to a target modulation-symbol sequence generated by an output of a first bit block through channel coding ([0003] disclosing “ The subframe structure for PSCCH and PSSCH is based on the cellular uplink transmission structure, more specifically, the basic structure of physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH)…3GPP LTE Rel-12 and Rel-13, all SL communications are based on Discrete Fourier Transform Spread (DFTS)-OFDM with subcarrier spacing of 15 kHz and a subframe/slot structure…The subframe/slot structure may comprise of 14 SC-FDMA symbols for PSSCH and PSCCH in LTE V2V sidelink.”; See TS 36.211 for inherent features in the disclosure of Li: pp 20-21, Sections 5.1-5.2, pp 25-35, Section 5.3 and subsections); and
transmitting a first radio signal ([0003] disclosing sidelink (SL) communications are performed on a subframe or slot basis and the subframe/slot structure may comprise of 14 SC-FDMA symbols for PSSCH and PSCCH in LTE V2V sidelink; [0054] disclosing “For instance, a TX UE is scheduled or selects some periodic SL transmissions to a RX UE every second subframes/slots/mini-slots.”);
wherein:
the first multicarrier symbol is not an earliest time domain multicarrier symbol among the M multicarrier symbols (Figs. 4 and 5 symbols other than AGC settling),
K1 modulation symbol(s) comprises(comprise) modulation symbol(s) among the K modulation symbols that is(are) mapped onto the first multicarrier symbol, K1 being a positive integer (Fig. 4 and Fig. 5, [0077]-[0079] second set of symbols 420; Fig. 5, first symbol of second set 420, [0088]-[0089] disclosing ”As one example, the encoding bits are first mapped into the second part and then mapped into the first part.”; [0003] disclosing “The subframe structure for PSCCH and PSSCH is based on the cellular uplink transmission structure, more specifically, the basic structure of physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH)…3GPP LTE Rel-12 and Rel-13, all SL communications are based on Discrete Fourier Transform Spread (DFTS)-OFDM with subcarrier spacing of 15 kHz and a subframe/slot structure…The subframe/slot structure may comprise of 14 SC-FDMA symbols for PSSCH and PSCCH in LTE V2V sidelink.”; it is inherent in the art that the first symbol of second part 420 is a multicarrier symbol (e.g., an SC-FDMA symbol based on DFTS-OFDM is inherently a number of OFDM subcarriers in the symbol period of the first part 420 in the 3GPP subframe/slot structure),
starting K2 modulation symbol(s) in the target modulation-symbol sequence comprises(comprise) the K1 modulation symbol(s), K2 being a positive integer not less than K1 (Fig. 4, first symbol of second set 420; Fig. 5, first symbol of second set 420, [0088]-[0089] disclosing ”As one example, the encoding bits are first mapped into the second part and then mapped into the first part.”);
a time-domain position of the first multicarrier symbol among the M multicarrier symbols is related to at least one of a Subcarrier Spacing (SCS) of a subcarrier occupied by the K Res ([0005] disclosing “As can be understood, a higher SCS reduces the OFDM symbol time for each symbol in the slot. “) or M (Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 illustrating the first multicarrier symbol 420, for example, as related to the 7 slot structure),
an end time for transmitting the first radio signal is not later than a start time for transmitting the K modulation symbols, and a time interval between the end time for transmitting the first radio signal and a start time for transmitting the K modulation symbols is a first time interval ([0003] disclosing sidelink (SL) communications are performed on a subframe or slot basis and the subframe/slot structure may comprise of 14 SC-FDMA symbols for PSSCH and PSCCH in LTE V2V sidelink; [0054] disclosing “For instance, a TX UE is scheduled or selects some periodic SL transmissions to a RX UE every second subframes/slots/mini-slots.” (i.e., the subframe slot structure of Fig. 4 or Fig. 5 is transmitted every second subframes/slots/mini-slots);
for a given SCS of a subcarrier occupied by the K REs and given M, a time-domain position of the first multicarrier symbol among the M multicarrier symbols is related to a time length of the first time interval ([0003] disclosing sidelink (SL) communications are performed on a subframe or slot basis; The subframe structure for PSCCH and PSSCH is based on the cellular uplink transmission structure, more specifically, the basic structure of physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH); and the subframe/slot structure may comprise of 14 SC-FDMA symbols for PSSCH and PSCCH in LTE V2V sidelink; [0005] disclosing “As can be understood, a higher SCS reduces the OFDM symbol time for each symbol in the slot.“).
