DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Priority
Acknowledgment is made of applicant's claim for foreign priority based on an applications filed in China on 6/01/2022. It is noted, however, that applicant has not filed a certified copy of the CN202210623034.0 application or the CN202210622937.7 application as required by 37 CFR 1.55.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status.
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 20 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Sakai (US 2015/0062146 A1).
Regarding claim 20, Sakai teaches a non-transitory computer readable storage medium (11, figure 1), having stored computer program instructions that, when the computer program instructions run on a computer (10, figure 1), make the computer to execute ne step in the display method of the projection apparatus according to claim 8 (only one of the method steps of claim 8 need to be executed in order to anticipate claim 20):
Receive the image data output by the first controller (3, figure 1) and processing the output image data to generate the driving signal (for 5, figure 1), by the second controller (4, figure 1), so as to drive the light valve to modulate the incident beams.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 1-19 are allowed.
The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter: Closest prior art, Sakai (US 2015/0062146 A1) teaches a light valve (6, figure 1) to modulate incident beams according to a driving signal so as to obtain projection beams, the projection beams being incident on a projection lens to project an image to be displayed, the image to be displayed being an entire image required to be displayed by the projection apparatus and including at least one of a first image (from 1, figure 1);
A first controller (3, figure 1) configured to receive image data (from 1, 2, figure 1) and output the image data, the output image data including at least one of first data, the first data being used for displaying the first image,
A second controller (4, figure 1) being connected to the first controller and the light valve, the second controller configured to receive the image data output by the first controller and process the output image data to generate the driving signal so as to drive the light valve to modulate the incident beams,
Wherein the first controller is further configured to perform color gamut conversion on the first data (YCbCr-RGB, figure 1).
Secondary prior art, Hu (CN 110413360 A) teaches a method of displaying a user interface and an image together, wherein the color space of the image is adjusted to be consistent with the color space of the user interface (see abstract).
Sakai in view of Hu however does not teach that the first controller omits color gamut conversion of the second data while the second controller performs color gamut conversion on the second data so as to make the color gamut of the second image be the same the color gamut of the first image.
