§102
DETAILED ACTION Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claims 1-20 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Heyd et al. (US 2021/0327295). Regarding claims 1-5 and 16-19, Heyd discloses a flight simulation system which simulates a physical environment for a user. See paragraph 0035. Heyd discloses a viewable (claim 3) mock avionics device positioned in the mixed reality (claims 2 and 17) environment, with an input selection button (claims 4-5 and 18-19). See paragraph 0049. Regarding claims 6 and 12, Heyd discloses the system as described above, and wherein the mixed reality system (claim 12) further comprises a camera which captures images of the physical environment, and renders elements from those images to the user display. See paragraph 0058. Regarding claims 7-8, 10, 13-15, and 20, Heyd discloses wherein the displayed images are adjusted as they are video streamed (claims 14-15, 20) based upon tracked position of the user (i.e. viewpoint as per claim 13), which is within the physical environment. See paragraph 0046. Regarding claims 9 and 11, Heyd discloses wherein the system senses and tracks a user’s hand, and renders the interaction of physical elements with which the hand interacts (as per claim 11). See paragraph 0049. Conclusion Any inquiry concerning this communication or earlier communications from the examiner should be directed to TIMOTHY A MUSSELMAN whose telephone number is (571)272-1814.
