DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1-2, 5 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2022/0345601 to Nakamura (“Nakamura”).
Regarding claim 1, Nakamura teaches a monitoring camera, comprising:
an optical sensor (reference number 32, image sensor); a light source (reference number 32, LED); first and second printed circuit boards attached to the optical sensor and the light source respectively; a first electrical device, attached to the first printed circuit board and electrically connected to the optical sensor; a second electrical device, attached to the second printed circuit board and electrically connected to the light source (reference number 30, first circuit board with sensor and reference number 10 second circuit board with LED mounted, see paragraph [0019], see Figure 2 showing electrical devices connected to each of the first and second circuit boards); a casing joined to the first and second printed circuit boards; and an electrical connector (reference number 46 connector wires);
the first and second printed circuit boards being arranged substantially parallel to each other and substantially opposite each other; and being separated by a non-zero distance (in Figure 2, circuit boards 10 and 30 are shown parallel to each other and separated by a distance);
wherein the first printed circuit board has a through cut; and the electrical connector is arranged in said cut so as to be connected simultaneously to the first and second electrical devices (Figures 2 and 4 show an opening through reference number 30 and connected to reference number 46 which is also connected to reference number 10).
Regarding claim 2, Nakamura teaches the monitoring camera according to claim 1, wherein: the electrical connector comprises first and second connection elements; the first connection element is connected to the first electrical device; and the second connection element is disposed in the through cut and connected to the second electrical device (See Figure 2 showing the electrical connector 46 where each side facing the first and second circuit boards are connected through connection elements).
Regarding claim 5, Nakamura teaches the monitoring camera according to claim 1, wherein the casing comprises an intermediate element arranged between the first and second printed circuit boards, so as to maintain the non-zero distance between said first and second printed circuit boards (see Figure 2, reference number 46, arranged between first and second printed circuit boards, reference number 10 and 30).
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 3-4, 6-10 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
