Office Action

§102
CTNF 18/980,329 CTNF 84743 DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status 07-03-aia AIA 15-10-aia The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 07-06 AIA 15-10-15 In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status. 07-07-aia AIA 07-07 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – 07-08-aia AIA (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. 07-15-aia AIA Claim(s) 10 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102 (a)(1) as being anticipated by Kim (US Pub. No. 2006/0197863) . Regarding claim 10, Kim teaches a method for operating a camera, the method comprising: coupling the camera in a cylinder to direct a lens to view through an opening in the cylinder (Fig. 1, the camera is coupled to a cylinder housing having an opening); coupling the cylinder in a frame (1) having an open face (1b); rotating the cylinder to align the lens and the open face when the camera is operational; and rotating the cylinder to block the cylinder opening with the frame when the camera is non-operational (para. 39) . Allowable Subject Matter 12-151-07 AIA 07-97 12-51-07 Claim s 1-9 and 16-20 are allowed. 12-151-08 AIA 07-43 12-51-08 Claim s 11-15 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims. 13-03-01 AIA The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter: Regarding claim 1, applicant has sufficiently defined and claimed an information handling system, whereby the prior art does not teach or suggest a camera module coupled in an inner frame to direct a lens through an opening of the inner frame, the inner frame coupled in a cylinder to direct the lens through an opening of the cylinder, the cylinder coupled in an outer frame having a cylindrical shape in an open face, the cylinder rotating in the outer frame between an operational position directing the lens through the open face and a nonoperational position blocking the lens by the outer frame, in combination with all other limitations set forth in the claim. Regarding claim 11, applicant has sufficiently defined and claimed a method for operation a camera, whereby the prior art does not teach or suggest coupling a rear support to a rear side of the frame; extending first and second arms from the rear support through slots of the cylinder; and limiting a rotational range of the cylinder in the frame by engagement of the first and second arms in the slots, in combination with all other limitations set forth in the claim. Regarding claim 16, applicant has sufficiently defined and claimed a camera, whereby the prior art does not teach or suggest an outer frame having a cylindrical shape an open face, the cylinder rotating in the outer frame between an operational position directing the lens through the open face and a nonoperational position blocking the lens by the outer frame, in combination with all other limitations set forth in the claim .
