Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112 2nd
The following is a quotation of the second paragraph of 35 U.S.C. 112:
The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention.
Claims 31-54 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112, second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which applicant regards as the invention.
Use of the abbreviated word ‘Snp*’ in claims 31-54 fails to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter. At least, it should be spelled out and explained first time it appears in the claims.
Use of the abbreviated word ‘RspIHitI’ in claims 31-54 fails to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter. At least, it should be spelled out and explained first time it appears in the claims.
Use of the abbreviated words SnpData, SnpInv, and/or SnpCur in claims 32, 39, and 50 fails to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter. Similar problems exist in rest of the dependent claims where terms (e.g. MemRd*, Cmp*, RdCurr, MemRdTEE, etc.) are not defined. At least, it should be spelled out and explained first time it appears in the claims.
Applicant is required to review the claim and correct all language which does not comply with 35 U.S.C. § 112, second paragraph.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 31-54 would be allowable if rewritten or amended to overcome the rejection(s) under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), 2nd paragraph, set forth in this Office action.
