Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. § 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1-2, and 11-13 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by US 20220212628 A1 (“Xie”).
Claim 1 is directed to the same invention as Claim 11 and also repeats the same subject matter; therefore, Claim 1 is rejected in like manner.
As to Claim 2, Xie discloses:
wherein the authentication result is the authentication success (see at least Fig. 1-5 with associated text), and
wherein obtaining the authentication result comprises:
receiving an authentication success notification from the second controller (see at least Fig. 1-5 with associated text),
wherein the authentication success notification notifies the device that the authentication performed by the second controller on the first controller has succeeded (see at least Fig. 1-5 with associated text).
As to Claim 11, Xie discloses A component control apparatus (e.g., vehicle authentication system; see at least Abstract) comprising:
a memory configured to store a computer program (see at least [0086]); and
at least one processor coupled to the memory, and configured to execute the computer program to cause the component control apparatus to (see at least [0085]):
obtain a control instruction (“unlocking the vehicle door”; “trunk open”; and/or “vehicle starting”) from a first controller (e.g., “central control processor 100”), when authentication performed by a second controller (e.g.,” AVNT smart interconnection device 110” and/or “fingerprint authentication controller 120”) on the first controller succeeds and when trusting an authentication result of the authentication (see at least [0061]-[0078], and Fig. 1-5 with associated text; in particular, S409 and/or S509);
obtain the authentication result, wherein the authentication result comprises an authentication success (see at least Fig. 1-5 with associated text; in particular, S409 and/or S509) or (Only one option is required to satisfy an “or” limitation.) an authentication failure (see at least Fig. 1-5 with associated text; in particular, S408 and/or S508); and
respond to the control instruction when the authentication result is the authentication success (see at least Fig. 1-5 with associated text; in particular, S409 and/or S509).
Claim 12 is directed to the same invention as Claim 11 and also repeats the same subject matter; therefore, Claim 12 is rejected in like manner.
Claim 13 repeats the same subject matter of Claim 2; therefore, Claim 2 is rejected in like manner.
