DETAILED ACTION
This action is in response to communication on December 17th, 2024.
Claims 1-20 are currently pending.
The present application is a continuation of International application no. PCT/KR2023/006644, filed on August 16th, 2023, which claims priority to the Republic of Korea application nos. KR10-2022-0080072 and KR10-2022-0074315, filed on June 29th, 2022 and June 17th, 2022, respectively.
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 5, 10, 15, and 20 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1-4, 6-9, 11-14, 16-19 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Xu et al (U.S. Patent Application Publication no. 2020/0229009, hereinafter Xu).
With respect to claims 1, 6, 11, and 16, Xu discloses a method and electronic device performed by a radio unit (RU) and distributed unit (DU (paragraph [0084], lines 1-9), the method comprising:
receiving, from a distributed unit (DU), a control plane (C-plane) message including frequency offset information (paragraph [0080], lines 1-9, frequency domain comb offset) and frame structure information indicating a subcarrier spacing (SCS) (paragraph [0078], lines 9-11);
identifying a frequency offset factor among a plurality of frequency offset factors (paragraph [0080], lines 1-9, frequency domain comb offset);
obtaining a frequency offset value corresponding to a product of the frequency offset information, the SCS, and the frequency offset factor (paragraph [0080], lines 9-17, proportional to a ratio of the downlink SCS to the uplink SCS); and
transmitting downlink signals based on the frequency offset value, wherein the plurality of frequency offset factors includes ‘0.5’ and ‘0.25’ (paragraph [0132], lines 1-8, once every other subcarrier).
With respect to claims 2, 7, 12, and 17, Xu discloses the method of claims 1, 6, 11, and 16, further comprising: receiving, from the DU, a management plane (M-plane) message including mode information indicating the frequency offset factor (paragraph [0132], lines 1-8, half that of the downlink SCS of the victim UE 115, the aggressor UE 115 may apply a transmitter comb factor).
With respect to claims 3, 8, 13, and 18, Xu discloses the method of claims 1, 6, 11, and 16,
wherein the frame structure information includes bits indicating the SCS (paragraph [0113], lines 1-7),
wherein, in based on a value of the bits belonging to a first range, the identified frequency offset factor is ‘0.5’ (paragraph [0132], lines 1-8, half that of the downlink SCS of the victim UE 115), and
wherein, based on a value of the bits belonging to a second range different from the first range, the identified frequency offset factor is ‘0.5’ (paragraph [0132], lines 1-8, half that of the downlink SCS of the victim UE 115).
With respect to claims 4, 9, 14, and 19, Xu discloses the method of claims 1, 6, 11, and 16, wherein the plurality of frequency offset factors further includes ‘0.125’ and ‘0.0625’ (paragraph [0133], lines 5-17, offset may be applied at the UE 115 with the higher SCS to match a phase of the UE with the lower scs; paragraph [0135], lines 1-10, the ratio may be equal to the larger SCS divided by the small SCS).
Conclusion
The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure.
