DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Priority
Receipt is acknowledged of certified copies of papers required by 37 CFR 1.55.
Specification
The title of the invention is not descriptive. A new title is required that is clearly indicative of the invention to which the claims are directed.
The following title is suggested: MOTOR WITH NEUTRAL BUS BAR IN RADIAL DIRECTION.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status.
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
(a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 1-6 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) and 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Kawasumi (WO 2022/208762 A1).
As to claim 1, Kawasumi shows (FIG. 3, 5) A motor 1 comprising:
a plurality of coils 40U, 40V, 40W that is wound on a stator 3; and
a neutral bus bar 50N connecting the plurality of coils 40U, 40V, 40W to each other, wherein
a plurality of lead wires 42 connected to the plurality of coils 40U, 40V, 40W respectively is bent in a radial direction of the stator 20 from an axial direction of the stator 3, and
the neutral bus bar 50N is connected to a portion of the plurality of the lead wires 42 that extends in the radial direction (motor para [0025], para [0029], [0036], [0039], [0051]).
As to claim 2/1, Kawasumi further shows (FIG. 3, 5) wherein the neutral bus bar 50N is positioned, in the axial direction, on a side closer to a center of the stator 3 than an end 42 of the plurality of coils 40U, 40V, 40W (the bus bars 50 are inside the coils 40U, 40V, 40W).
As to claim 3/1, Kawasumi further shows (FIG. 7):

wherein the neutral bus bar 50N includes at least one U-shaped portion A surrounding at least one lead wire 42 of the plurality of lead wires 42 on three sides, or at least one V-shaped portion surrounding at least one lead wire of the plurality of lead wires on two sides (the terminals A of the connection portions 52 all have the same U-shape).
As to claim 4/3/1, Kawasumi further shows (FIG. 6) wherein the at least one U-shaped portion A or the at least one V-shaped portion is a bent portion fashioned by bending the neutral bus bar 50N (the bus bars 50 are single metal plates para [0036]; the tip of the connection portion 52 is folded back to sandwich the winding 41 para [0039]).
As to claim 5/1, Kawasumi further shows (FIG. 3, 5) wherein the neutral bus bar 50N is connected only to a plurality of the plurality of lead wires 42 (there are four neutral bus bars 50N and twelve coils 40U, 40V, 40W).
As to claim 6/1, Kawasumi further shows (FIG. 5) wherein the neutral bus bar 50N, as viewed in the radial direction, is positioned between two ends of the plurality of coils 40U, 40V, 40W in the axial direction (the lead-outs 42 are above the bus bars 50).
