Office Action

§103
DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 103 The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 103 which forms the basis for all obviousness rejections set forth in this Office action: A patent for a claimed invention may not be obtained, notwithstanding that the claimed invention is not identically disclosed as set forth in section 102, if the differences between the claimed invention and the prior art are such that the claimed invention as a whole would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains. Patentability shall not be negated by the manner in which the invention was made. Claims 1-3 and 20 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 as being unpatentable over “Imamura” (US 20180261913). Claim 1: Imamura discloses a system comprising: a signal hub housing H (Fig. 6a reproduced below), PNG media_image1.png 194 457 media_image1.png Greyscale a radiating shell 1 (by virtue of having antenna 40 coupled thereto), a bottom shell 10, a first antenna 40 (¶ 32), and a radio frequency (RF) board 20; wherein the radiating shell is configured to couple to the bottom shell to form the signal hub housing (see Fig. 6a); wherein the RF board is configured to process signals (using 50+21) received from the first antenna (¶ 33); wherein the RF board is configured to be housed within the radiating shell when the radiating shell is coupled to the bottom shell (see Fig. 6a); wherein the first antenna is coupled directly to an inner surface (using 30) of the radiating shell; and wherein coupling the radiation shell to the bottom shell is configured to cause the first antenna to make a signal connection (using 47) to the RF board (see Fig. 6a and ¶ 50). Claims 2-3 and 20: Imamura teaches the system of claim 1, wherein the inner surface includes a flow guide 30 (Fig. 6a); wherein the first antenna includes a board feed connection 47 (Fig. 5a) and a board short connection 30; wherein the first antenna is coupled directly to the inner surface of the radiating shell using one or more fasteners 30 (Fig. 6a). Allowable Subject Matter Claims 4-19 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims. Conclusion The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure.
