Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Claims 1-10 are pending.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status.
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.

Claim 1 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Li et al. (CN 113078776 A).
Regarding claim 1, Li discloses a cooling system for a rotary electric machine including a stator and a rotor (see annotated fig. 1), the cooling system comprising:
a coolant flow path supplying a coolant (see the arrows showing the coolant flow path);
a switching mechanism (valve, annotated fig. 1) switching the mode of the coolant flow path (capable of blocking one coolant flow path by closing the valve); and
a pump (pump, annotated fig. 1) pumping the coolant to the coolant flow path (implied), wherein
the coolant flow path has a first coolant flow path section supplying the coolant to a core of the stator (when the valve is closed), and
a second coolant flow path section supplying the coolant to the rotor (when the valve is closed), and
the switching mechanism (the valve) is configured to achieve a first mode in which the coolant is supplied to the first coolant flow path section and the coolant is not supplied to the second coolant flow path section (pumping coolant into the stator and blocking the coolant flow into the rotor by closing the valve), and
a second mode in which the downstream of the first coolant flow path section (downstream, annotated fig. 1) and the upstream of the second coolant flow path section (upstream, annotated fig. 1) are made to communicate with each other (coolant exiting the stator flows into the second coolant path after passing through the open valve).
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 2-10 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
As allowable subject matter has been indicated, applicant's reply must either comply with all formal requirements or specifically traverse each requirement not complied with. See 37 CFR 1.111(b) and MPEP § 707.07(a).
