Office Action

§112
DETAILED ACTION The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . The text of those sections of Title 35, U.S. Code not included in this action can be found in a prior Office action. Drawings The drawings were received on 09 September 2025 These drawings are acceptable. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112 Claims 6 and 7 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention. Regarding claim 6, the recitation of “or a combination thereof “ renders the claim indefinite. It is unclear how a device can be a combination of a fluid connector, gas connector, and an electrical connector. Further there are no working examples in the specification or drawings as to what such device would look like. Regarding claim 7, the recitation of “or a combination thereof “ renders the claim indefinite. It is unclear how a device can be a combination of a fluid connector, gas connector, and an electrical connector. Further there are no working examples in the specification or drawings as to what such device would look like. Allowable Subject Matter Claims 1-5 and 8-30 allowed. Claims 6 and 7 would be allowable if rewritten or amended to overcome the rejection(s) under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), 2nd paragraph, set forth in this Office action. Response to Arguments Applicant's arguments filed 09 September 2025 with respect to the 112(b) rejections have been fully considered but they are not persuasive. Applicant argues that claims 6 and 7 have been amended to address the rejection. The examiner disagrees. The amended language of “a combination thereof” raises the same indefinite issues outlined in the non-final Office action, and thus the claims remain rejected. Conclusion THIS ACTION IS MADE FINAL. Applicant is reminded of the extension of time policy as set forth in 37 CFR 1.136(a). A shortened statutory period for reply to this final action is set to expire THREE MONTHS from the mailing date of this action. In the event a first reply is filed within TWO MONTHS of the mailing date of this final action and the advisory action is not mailed until after the end of the THREE-MONTH shortened statutory period, then the shortened statutory period will expire on the date the advisory action is mailed, and any nonprovisional extension fee (37 CFR 1.17(a)) pursuant to 37 CFR 1.136(a) will be calculated from the mailing date of the advisory action. In no event, however, will the statutory period for reply expire later than SIX MONTHS from the mailing date of this final action.
