DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Specification The title of the invention is not descriptive. A new title is required that is clearly indicative of the invention to which the claims are directed. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claim(s) 1-4 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Umimura (JP 2019-128792, machine translation used for all citations). (1) regarding claim 1: Umimura ‘792 discloses a control device (page 3, lines 11-18) comprising: a signal generating portion configured to output a first signal from an output terminal (page 5, lines 8-23, where a control signal is transmitted to control the power supply device 221); a signal output portion including an input terminal configured to receive the first signal (page 5, lines 8-23, the power supply device receives the control signal (first signal)), the signal output portion being configured to output a control signal corresponding to the first signal (page 5, lines 8-23 and page 6, lines 27-36, where the reset signal is being outputted); and a power supply control portion configured to control a second power supply provided separately from a first power supply and stop power supply from the second power supply to the signal output portion in accordance with a second signal from outside (page 7, line 38 through page 8 line 2, where power is shut off in accordance with the reset signal), the first power supply being configured to drive the signal generating portion (page 6, lines 3-12, first power supply unit 302), the second power supply being configured to drive the signal output portion (page 6, lines 3-13, second power supply unit 306). (2) regarding claim 2: Umimura ‘792 further discloses wherein the second signal is a reset signal that is input to the signal generating portion and is used to reset the signal generating portion (page 5, lines 8-23 and page 6, lines 27-36, where the reset signal is being outputted). (3) regarding claim 3: Umimura ‘792 further discloses wherein the power supply control portion is configured to stop the power supply from the second power supply to the signal output portion during a reset operation of the signal generating portion with the second signal. (4) regarding claim 4: Umimura ‘792 discloses an image processing apparatus (page 3, lines 11-18, image processing apparatus 100) comprising: the control device according to claim 1 (rejected on item (1) above); and a body having an image processing function (page 3, lines 24-31).
