(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1-15 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Mori (US 2015/0324675 A1).
With respect to Claim 1, Morii’675 shows an image formation apparatus (Figure 1 MFP 101) comprising:
a reading unit configured to read a sheet on which a character string is printed (Figure 2 card reader 219 paragraph [0043] reading of information from an IC card by the card reader 219, figure 16A S404); and
a memory storing a program and a processor (figure 2, CPU 201), when executing the program, configured to:
extract the character string from the read sheet, generate, based on the extracted character string, login information for logging into the image formation apparatus (Figure 16A S407 search/extract card information), and register the generated login information (paragraphs [0099]-[0102] registration request after reading a card).
With respect to Claim 2, Morii’675 shows the image formation apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to enable a login into the image formation apparatus based on the registered login information (paragraph [0077] enables login by using an IC card (card) carried by the user).
With respect to Claim 3, Morii’675 shows the image formation apparatus according to claim 2, further comprising a printing unit configured to print an image associated with a logged in user (paragraph [0060] he print application is an application that is intended to, if the button 1503 for performing a print function is selected, manage data of print jobs stored in the HDD 204 for each user and print the print job(s) of the login user).
With respect to Claim 4, Morii’675 shows the image formation apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the character string is personal information (paragraph [0043] reading of information from an IC card by the card reader 219 ).
With respect to Claim 5, Morii’675 shows the image formation apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the sheet is an identification certificate (paragraph [0043] reading of information from an IC card by the card reader 219).
With respect to Claim 6, Morii’675 shows the image formation apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to update, in a state in which the login information has been registered, in a case where the login information is generated, the registered login information to the generated login information (paragraph [0101] The user information management unit 304 updates and manages the user table (FIG. 13) according to user registration/edit requests from the login screen management unit 303).
With respect to Claim 7, Morii’675 shows the image formation apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the login information includes user information and a password (paragraphs [0118]-[0120] login information registered includes password).
With respect to Claims 8 and 15, rejection analogous to those presented for claim 1, are applicable.
With respect to Claim 9, rejection analogous to those presented for claim 2, are applicable.
