The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Election/Restrictions
Claims 5-19 are withdrawn from further consideration pursuant to 37 CFR 1.142(b) as being drawn to a nonelected invention, there being no allowable generic or linking claim. Election was made without traverse in the reply filed on 05/18/2026.
Claim Objections
Claims 1-4 are objected to because of the following informalities: The brackets around the claim numbering should be removed. [Claim 1] should reach Claim 1. Appropriate correction is required.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim(s) 1-4 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Gatineau et al. (US 2016/002786).
As to claim 1, Gatineau et al. disclose a molybdenum precursor compound represented by formulas 1 and 2 (see Mo(NtAmyl)2 (NHtAmyl)2 of claim 11).
As to claim 3, Gatineau et al. discloses the same precursor as being claimed, Mo(NtAmyl)2 (NHtAmyl)2. Applicant states this precursor has a TG50 of 204.1 (see paragraph 163 and Table 1 of the specification dated 03/07/2025), therefore the compound of Gatineau meets the claimed limitation.
As to claim 4, Gatineau et al. discloses the same precursor as being claimed, Mo(NtAmyl)2 (NHtAmyl)2. Applicant states this precursor has a residual weight at 500 C of 0% to 1.3% relative to an initial weight of 10 mg (see 0164 of the specification). This would equate to a residual weight of 87-100%, where W25 of 10 mg and W500 or 0-1.3 mg.
