DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claim Objections
Claims 1-4 are objected to because of the following informalities:
Claim 1 recites the limitation “the field” in line 6 however, it appears to be referring back to “a radio frequency electromagnetic field, therefore it should be corrected to refer to it to avoid lack of antecedent basics. Dependent claims 2-4 are likewise objected to. Appropriate correction is required.
Claim 1 recites the limitations “said impedance matching device” in lines 12 & 16 however, they appears to be referring back to “A low-loss impedance matching device” in the preamble, therefore they should be corrected to refer to it to avoid lack of antecedent basics. Dependent claims 2-4 are likewise objected to. Appropriate correction is required.
Claim 1 recites the limitations “compact VHF band antenna” in lines 33 & 34 however, they appears to be referring back to “compact VHF band vehicular antenna”, therefore they should be corrected to refer to it to avoid lack of antecedent basics. Dependent claims 2-4 are likewise objected to. Appropriate correction is required.
Claims 2-4 recite the limitations “The impedance matching device according to claim 1”, however, they should be corrected to refer back to the preamble of independent claim of “A low-loss impedance matching device” to avoid lack of antecedent basics. Appropriate correction is required.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b):
(b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention.
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph:
The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention.
Claims 1-4 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention.
Claim 1 recites the limitation “further configured to alternatively receive from the transceiver equipment outgoing electrical signals through said signal input terminal and to generate a corresponding radiating electromagnetic field” however, this limitation is unclear since it recites the term “alternatively receive…” followed by “and to generate…” which makes it unclear what is the alternative operation and thus rendering the claim indefinite. Dependent claims 2-4 are likewise rejected.
Claim 3 recites the limitations "said inner conductor of said coaxial cable" in the 2nd and 4th lines. There is insufficient antecedent basis for these limitations in the claim.
