Office Action

§112
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . DETAILED ACTION This Office Action is in response to the application 19/135,476 filed on 06/04/2025. Claims 1 – 3, 5 – 20, 22 and 23 have been examined and are pending in this application. Information Disclosure Statement The information disclosure statement (IDS) submitted on 06/04/2025. The submission is in compliance with the provisions of 37 CFR 1.97. Accordingly, the information disclosure statement is being considered by the examiner. Specification The lengthy specification has not been checked to the extent necessary to determine the presence of all possible minor errors. Applicant’s cooperation is requested in correcting any errors of which applicant may become aware in the specification. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112 The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b): (b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention. The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph: The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention. Claims 1 – 3, 5 – 20, 22 and 23 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention. Claim 1 and 23 states in line 8 – 9, “….shared buffer shared with at least another coding tool for storing…” as recited is vague or broad because what type coding tool will be used, there are many coding tools out there which can be used, as a result, these features is a relative term which renders the claim indefinite. Examiner notes that applicants specification including dependent claims such as 3 does have clarification for the above features that are not defined/included in independent claims, limitations can/may be incorporated for clarification so that it can overcome indefinite issues. Claim 2 - 3, 5 – 20 and 22 are, either directly or indirectly, dependent from a claims rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b). Claims 2 - 3, 5 – 20 and 22 do not remedy this deficiency and therefore inherit the rejection of the parent claim. The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure. Claims 3 is objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims. Claims 1 – 3, 5 – 20, 22, 23 would be allowable if rewritten or amended to overcome the rejection(s) under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AlA), 2nd paragraph, set forth in this Office action. The Examiner notes that no prior art rejection is being issued at this time, due to the lack of clarity in the limitations of the independent claims. Conclusion The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure. Jang et al (US 2021/0112262 A1).
