Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 103
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 103 which forms the basis for all obviousness rejections set forth in this Office action:
A patent for a claimed invention may not be obtained, notwithstanding that the claimed invention is not identically disclosed as set forth in section 102, if the differences between the claimed invention and the prior art are such that the claimed invention as a whole would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains. Patentability shall not be negated by the manner in which the invention was made.
Claim(s) 1, 3-5, 8, 10, 15-17 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 as being unpatentable over LIANG et al(CN 117223291 A:IDS supplied) in view of Roberts(US 6931128 B2).
With regards to claim 1,8, 13, A method, implemented by a transmit end, wherein the method comprises:
generating a first content key to encrypt a first audio/video stream in a unicast scenario (Page 2 para 4; In the first aspect, the embodiment of the application provides a data transmission method, which is applied to a source end device, the source end device performs identity authentication on a downstream first transmission device, and negotiates a first encryption key with the first transmission device; generating a first content key, encrypting the first content key with the first encryption key to obtain a second content key, wherein the first content key is used for encrypting or decrypting the content transmitted by the source end device and the first transmission device; Also see Abstract);
encrypting, based on the encryption algorithm and the encryption mode, a first audio/video packet of the first audio/video stream using the first content key and the first counter to obtain a first encrypted audio/video packet (Page 2 para 5; In a possible design, the source end device processes the first multimedia stream to be transmitted to obtain a second audio/video stream, and the second audio/video stream comprises: encrypting the first audio/video stream by using the first content key and the randomly generated first counting value, and adding the first key distribution message to the encrypted first audio/video stream to obtain the second audio/video stream; The first key distribution message further includes the first count value. The randomly generated first count value may be all or part of a randomly generated counter. The audio and video data is encrypted by the random counting value, which can further improve the transmission safety. Page 3 para 1; In a possible design, the first key distribution message further includes one or more of an encryption algorithm, an encryption mode, and a check code.); wherein the first counter information is high 64 bits of a first counter (Page 20 para 4; In one example, the source device encrypts the audio/video data stream to be transmitted using CK.In another example, the source device may encrypt the audio/video data stream to be transmittedusing part or all of the count values of CK and Counter. For example, the audio/video data stream tobe transmitted is encrypted using high 64 bits of CK and Counter. Page 21 para 10; 3) using the content key to perform content decryption. In one example, a sink device decrypts anencrypted audio/video data stream using CK. In another example, the sink device decrypts theencrypted audio/video data stream using part or all of the count values of CK and Counter , such as the high 64 bits of Counter.); and
sending, to a first receive end, a first encrypted audio/video stream comprising the first encrypted audio/video packet and the first encryption description packet (Page 2 para 4; herein the processing comprises: encrypting the audio/video message of the first audio/video stream using the first content key; the second audio/video stream comprises a first key distribution message, the first key distribution message is used when the first transmission device decrypts the content from the source end device, the first key distribution message comprises the second content key; transmitting the second audio/video stream to the first transmission device.).
LIANG does not exclusively but Roberts teaches, generating a first encryption description packet comprising an encryption algorithm and comprising an encryption mode or first counter information (col 2 line 10-25; Methods and systems are described for generating a security key such as an encryption key so as to make it more difficult for eavesdroppers to identify the key. Specifically, a cryptographically secure random number generator generates a random bit sequence that is included in a seed. This random seed is provided along with a negotiated master secret to a key generation module. The key generation module may implement a pseudo random function that is in accordance with the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol or the Wireless Transport Layer Security (WTLS) protocol. This key may then be used to encrypt a plain text message to form an encrypted data packet. The encrypted data packet also includes the random seed in unencrypted form. The encrypted data packet may be transmitted over a public network to a recipient with reduced risk of eavesdropping.), It would have been obvious to one of ordinary skill in the art before the effective filing date of the claimed invention was made to modify LIANG’s method with teaching of Roberts in order to secure the transmission with reduced risk of eavesdropping(Roberts Abstract).
With regards to claim 3, 15 LIANG further discloses, further comprising adding the first encryption description packet to a vertical blanking region of the first encrypted audio/video packet to obtain the first encrypted audio/video stream (Page 3 para 3; In a possible design, the step of adding the first key distribution message to the encrypted firstaudio/video stream to obtain the second audio/video stream comprises: adding the first keydistribution message in the vertical blanking region of the encrypted first audio/video stream to obtainthe second audio/video stream. The key distribution message is added in the vertical blanking area toimprove the utilization rate of the video area.).
With regards to claim 4, 10, 16 LIANG further discloses, wherein before generating the first content key, the method further comprises initiating an authentication and key agreement procedure with the first receive end to obtain a shared master key and a random number from the first receive end (Page 2 para 4-5; Through the above solution, the source end device performs identity authentication and key negotiation on the first transmission device, through encapsulating the key distribution message inthe video stream, so that the first transmission device can decrypt the encrypted audio/video stream using the key distribution message, Even if other devices are connected between the source end device and the first transmission device, the audio/video stream cannot be decrypted, which can improve the transmission security of the audio/video. In a possible design, the source end device processes the first multimedia stream to be transmitted to obtain a second audio/video stream, and the second audio/video stream comprises: encrypting the first audio/video stream by using the first content key and the randomly generated first counting value, and adding the first key distribution message to the encrypted first audio/video stream to obtain the second audio/video stream; The first key distribution message further includes the first count value. The randomly generated first count value may be all or part of a randomly generated counter. The audio and video data is encrypted by the random counting value, which can further improve the transmission safety.).
With regards to claim 5, 17 LIANG discloses, wherein before encrypting the first audio/video packet, the method further comprises authorizing the first receive end according to an authorization control strategy of the first audio/video stream (Page 3 para 5; In a possible design, the downstream first transmission device is a sink end device, the source end device is connected with the first transmission device through a second transmission device, the second transmission device is a daisy chain device, the method further comprises: performing identity authentication to the daisy chain device, and negotiating a second encryption key with the daisy chain device; obtaining a second audio/video data, and packaging the second audio/video data into an audio/video message belonging to a third audio/video stream;).
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 2, 6-7, 9,11-12, 14, 18-20 objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
