Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 103
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 103 which forms the basis for all obviousness rejections set forth in this Office action:
A patent for a claimed invention may not be obtained, notwithstanding that the claimed invention is not identically disclosed as set forth in section 102, if the differences between the claimed invention and the prior art are such that the claimed invention as a whole would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains. Patentability shall not be negated by the manner in which the invention was made.
The factual inquiries for establishing a background for determining obviousness under 35 U.S.C. 103 are summarized as follows:
1. Determining the scope and contents of the prior art.
2. Ascertaining the differences between the prior art and the claims at issue.
3. Resolving the level of ordinary skill in the pertinent art.
4. Considering objective evidence present in the application indicating obviousness or nonobviousness.
Claims 6 and 8 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 as being unpatentable over EP 3528155 to LU et al. (hereinafter LU) in view of CN 111866557 to ZHANG, Li-shuai (hereinafter ZHANG) and further in view of CN106161397 to LIU, Xin-long (hereinafter LIU).
NB: Both ZHANG and LIU references were provided by the applicant in the IDS of 06/10/2025.
Regarding claim 6, LU discloses the method according to claim 1.
However, LU does not explicitly disclose the following limitation:
further comprising: displaying a graphic code by the processing circuitry of the first electronic device; receiving configuration information from a second electronic device after the second electronic device scans the graphic code; and performing, by the processing circuitry of the first electronic device, based on the configuration information, at least one of: adjusting a frequency at which the second type of biological feature is collected; displaying a time interval between a current time and a next time for collecting the second type of biological feature; or restoring the frequency at which the second type of biological feature is collected to a default frequency.
ZHANG discloses displaying a graphic code by the processing circuitry of the first electronic device (page 3, third paragraph, “The solution of the embodiment of the invention is executed, displaying the graphic code by the display unit,…”);
receiving configuration information from a second electronic device after the second electronic device scans the graphic code (page 3, third paragraph, “receiving the configuration parameter input from the terminal device based on the configuration interface, performing configuration operation according to the configuration parameter. executing the method of the invention, the terminal device by scanning the graphical code displayed on the large screen display device, the configuration interface of the display parameter on the terminal device, the user configuration interface on the parameter configuration, large screen display device receives the configuration parameter, and configuring operation according to the configuration parameter…”); and
performing, by the processing circuitry of the first electronic device, based on the configuration information, at least one of: adjusting a frequency at which the second type of biological feature is collected; displaying a time interval between a current time and a next time for collecting the second type of biological feature; or restoring the frequency at which the second type of biological feature is collected to a default frequency.
Thus, one of ordinary skill in the art would have found it obvious before the effective filing date of applicant’s claimed invention to modify the method of LU to include receiving configuration information from a second electronic device after the second electronic device scans the graphic code as disclosed by ZHANG and be motivated in doing so in order to configure the operation of the large screen display device according to the configuration parameter-ZHANG abstract in parts.
However, the combination of LU and ZHANG does not explicitly disclose the following limitation:
performing, by the processing circuitry of the first electronic device, based on the configuration information, at least one of: adjusting a frequency at which the second type of biological feature is collected; displaying a time interval between a current time and a next time for collecting the second type of biological feature; or restoring the frequency at which the second type of biological feature is collected to a default frequency (page 5, 2nd paragraph, “The rights management module 14 is used after the user login is successful, every a first preset time to prompt the user to input again the biological characteristic, and judging whether receiving the biological characteristic of the user input within a second predetermined time, if not, forbidding the user to use the particular application program. logging on each time the predetermined time is less than time in the usage rights, in one embodiment, the first predetermined time is 10 minutes and said second predetermined time is 10 seconds.”).
Thus, one of ordinary skill in the art would have found it obvious before the effective filing date of applicant’s claimed invention to modify the method of LU and ZHANG to include ; displaying a time interval between a current time and a next time for collecting the second type of biological feature as disclosed by LIU and be motivated in doing so in order to prevent other unauthorized users, such as children continue to use the particular application program when the legal user forgets to log out of the program-LIU, page 5, 3rd paragraph in parts.
Regarding claim 8, LU in view of ZHANG and further in view of LIU discloses the method according to claim 6.

Wherein, the graphic code is two-dimensional code or bar code. In the embodiment of the invention, the large screen display device can be a television, the remote control operation performed by the user on the remote controller of the television, the television receives the key remote control operation, obtaining the IP address and port number of the television. It can be understood that the IP address is a mark number when the computer communicates in the network, the IP address can uniquely identify a computer, through the IP address can be connected to the appointed computer, but if it wants to access a certain application program in the target computer, it also needs to specify the port number, In the computer, different application programs are distinguished by port numbers. after obtaining the IP address and port number of the television, entering into the engineering mode of the television, generating a graphic code, and displaying the graphic code by the display unit”), the setting interface including a sensitivity setting control (page 12, last paragraph and page 13, 1st paragraph, “Specifically, the input unit 1230 may include a touch sensitive surface 1231 (for example: a touch screen, a touch pad or a touch frame). touch sensitive surface 1231, also referred to as a touch display screen or touch pad, can collect the user on or near the touch operation (such as user using a finger, Any suitable object or accessory such as a stylus is on the touch sensitive surface 1231 or in the vicinity of the touch sensitive surface 1231), and drives the corresponding connecting device according to a pre-set program. Optionally, the touch sensitive surface 1231 may include a touch detection device and a touch controller two parts. wherein the touch detection device detects the touch orientation of the user, and detects the signal caused by the touch operation; the signal is transmitted to the touch controller; the touch controller receives the touch information from the touch detection device, and converts it into contact coordinate, then to the processor 1290, and can receive the command sent by the processor 1290 and executed. In addition, the touch sensitive surface 1231 may be implemented in a variety of types, such as resistance type, capacitance type, infrared ray, and surface acoustic wave”, wherein a touch detection device paired with a touch controller provide sensitivity setting control); and display a sensitivity setting interface based on a trigger operation for the sensitivity setting control (page 13, 2nd paragraph, “The display unit 1240 may be used to display information input by the user or information provided to the user and various graphical user interfaces of the terminal device, and the graphical user interface may be composed of a graphic, text, icon, video, and any combination thereof. The display unit 1240 may include a display panel 1241, and may optionally be a liquid crystal display (LCD). OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode, organic light emitting diode) and so on to configure the display panel 1241. Further, the touch sensitive surface 1231 can cover the display panel 1241, when the touch sensitive surface 1231 detects the touch operation on or near it, transmitting to the processor 1290 to determine the type of the touch event.”),
