Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Election/Restrictions
Applicant’s election without traverse of species III: figure 5 and sub-species I: figure 6 in the reply filed on August 2, 2026 is acknowledged.
Claims 2-14 are withdrawn from further consideration pursuant to 37 CFR 1.142(b) as being drawn to a nonelected species, there being no allowable generic or linking claim. Contrary to applicants’ election, claims 2-14 are also withdrawn from further consideration since they are drawn to a nonelected sub-species shown in figures 7-12. Election was made without traverse in the reply filed on August 2, 2026.
Specification
The title of the invention is not descriptive. A new title is required that is clearly indicative of the invention to which the claims are directed.
Drawings
The drawings are objected to because “Refrash Frame” should be - - Refresh Frame - - in figures 7-9 - - . Corrected drawing sheets in compliance with 37 CFR 1.121(d) are required in reply to the Office action to avoid abandonment of the application. Any amended replacement drawing sheet should include all of the figures appearing on the immediate prior version of the sheet, even if only one figure is being amended. The figure or figure number of an amended drawing should not be labeled as “amended.” If a drawing figure is to be canceled, the appropriate figure must be removed from the replacement sheet, and where necessary, the remaining figures must be renumbered and appropriate changes made to the brief description of the several views of the drawings for consistency. Additional replacement sheets may be necessary to show the renumbering of the remaining figures. Each drawing sheet submitted after the filing date of an application must be labeled in the top margin as either “Replacement Sheet” or “New Sheet” pursuant to 37 CFR 1.121(d). If the changes are not accepted by the examiner, the applicant will be notified and informed of any required corrective action in the next Office action. The objection to the drawings will not be held in abeyance.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claim 1 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Kim et al (US 2023/0079102)
As per claim 1 Kim et al discloses: An electroluminescent display apparatus, comprising:
a display panel 110 including a plurality of pixels SP; and
a driving circuit 130 configured to drive the display panel 110, wherein each of the plurality of pixels SP comprises:
a light emitting device ED {figure 3};
a driving transistor DRT {figure 3} configured to generate a driving current to be supplied to the light emitting device ED;
a driving transistor DRT controller including a capacitor Cst {figure 3}, including one electrode connected to a first node charged with a data voltage Vdata corresponding to image data in a refresh frame period {[0166] Referring to FIG. 6, while the second mode Mode 2 driven at the low speed driving frequency is performed, the data voltage Vdata and the stabilization voltage Vini are supplied in a state in which the third switching transistor T3 and the fourth switching transistor T4 are turned off by the light emitting signal EM of a high logic level H in the refresh frame period.} and the other electrode connected to a second node connected to a gate electrode of the driving transistor DRT, and a plurality of transistors configured to control a current flowing in the driving transistor DRT {figure 3}; and
an initialization switch T6 configured to initialize a third node connected to an anode electrode of the light emitting device ED in response to a second gate control signal differing from the first gate control signal, in a skip frame period after the refresh frame period { figures 3-6 & [0162] In the skip frame, the second switching transistor T2 of turned-on state supplies the bias voltage VOBS to the driving transistor DRT, and the sixth switching transistor T6 of turned-on state supplies the reset voltage VAR to the anode electrode of the light emitting element ED.}.
