Office Action

§102
DETAILED ACTION Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: (a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claims 1-16 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(2) as being anticipated by Belden et al (12,300,882). Belden et al disclose a radome spacer portion 404 for spacing a radome body portion 402 from antenna elements of an antenna assembly 200,250, the radome spacer portion comprising: a plurality of cells that are formed from a plurality of cell walls 316, wherein at least two cell walls 451a,451b of the plurality of cell walls defining each cell of the plurality of cells are positioned adjacent to each other (fig4b) and define a gap 453 therebetween, and wherein each cell wall includes a first end, a second end, and a spacing height therebetween for spacing the radome body portion from the antenna assembly (figs1-4). Belden et al also disclose a cell 450 having a spacing height for spacing the radome body portion 402 from the antenna assembly, wherein the cell includes: a first cell wall 451a raised to the spacing height; and a second cell wall 451b raised to the spacing height, wherein the second cell wall is positioned adjacent to the first cell wall such that the first and second cell walls define a gap 453 therebetween (fig4b). Conclusion The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure. The patents to Milroy, Le, Kruger, Wu, Bailey and Butler are cited as of interested and illustrated a similar structure to a radome assembly.
