Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claim Status
Claims 1-6 are pending.
Double Patenting
The nonstatutory double patenting rejection is based on a judicially created doctrine grounded in public policy (a policy reflected in the statute) so as to prevent the unjustified or improper timewise extension of the “right to exclude” granted by a patent and to prevent possible harassment by multiple assignees. A nonstatutory double patenting rejection is appropriate where the conflicting claims are not identical, but at least one examined application claim is not patentably distinct from the reference claim(s) because the examined application claim is either anticipated by, or would have been obvious over, the reference claim(s). See, e.g., In re Berg, 140 F.3d 1428, 46 USPQ2d 1226 (Fed. Cir. 1998); In re Goodman, 11 F.3d 1046, 29 USPQ2d 2010 (Fed. Cir. 1993); In re Longi, 759 F.2d 887, 225 USPQ 645 (Fed. Cir. 1985); In re Van Ornum, 686 F.2d 937, 214 USPQ 761 (CCPA 1982); In re Vogel, 422 F.2d 438, 164 USPQ 619 (CCPA 1970); In re Thorington, 418 F.2d 528, 163 USPQ 644 (CCPA 1969).
A timely filed terminal disclaimer in compliance with 37 CFR 1.321(c) or 1.321(d) may be used to overcome an actual or provisional rejection based on nonstatutory double patenting provided the reference application or patent either is shown to be commonly owned with the examined application, or claims an invention made as a result of activities undertaken within the scope of a joint research agreement. See MPEP § 717.02 for applications subject to examination under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA as explained in MPEP § 2159. See MPEP § 2146 et seq. for applications not subject to examination under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . A terminal disclaimer must be signed in compliance with 37 CFR 1.321(b).
The filing of a terminal disclaimer by itself is not a complete reply to a nonstatutory double patenting (NSDP) rejection. A complete reply requires that the terminal disclaimer be accompanied by a reply requesting reconsideration of the prior Office action. Even where the NSDP rejection is provisional the reply must be complete. See MPEP § 804, subsection I.B.1. For a reply to a non-final Office action, see 37 CFR 1.111(a). For a reply to final Office action, see 37 CFR 1.113(c). A request for reconsideration while not provided for in 37 CFR 1.113(c) may be filed after final for consideration. See MPEP §§ 706.07(e) and 714.13.
The USPTO Internet website contains terminal disclaimer forms which may be used. Please visit www.uspto.gov/patent/patents-forms. The actual filing date of the application in which the form is filed determines what form (e.g., PTO/SB/25, PTO/SB/26, PTO/AIA /25, or PTO/AIA /26) should be used. A web-based eTerminal Disclaimer may be filled out completely online using web-screens. An eTerminal Disclaimer that meets all requirements is auto-processed and approved immediately upon submission. For more information about eTerminal Disclaimers, refer to www.uspto.gov/patents/apply/applying-online/eterminal-disclaimer.
Claims 1-2 are rejected on the ground of nonstatutory double patenting as being unpatentable over claims 1 and 2 of U.S. Patent No. 12,405,981 in view of Oyamada in view of Cama (US 2015/0347901) in view of Brockett (US 2023/0205980).
This Application
An information processing apparatus comprising:
a memory storing instructions; and
at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to
perform processes comprising:
18/554,311
An information processing apparatus comprising:
a memory storing instructions; and
at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to
perform processes comprising:
This Application
an acquisition process of acquiring a target text;
18/554,311
an acquisition process of acquiring a target text;
This Application
an extraction process of extracting a document related to the target
text
18/554,311
an extraction process of extracting a document related to the target text
Application 18/554,311 discloses elements of the claimed invention as noted but does not disclose acquiring author information, publication year, and reliability
information for each document;
a quality evaluation process of determining quality ranks of
documents based on the author information and reliability information;
However, Cama discloses:
Cama [0019] The written content generation system 10 obtains data from one or more data sources 12. The data sources 12 may include, for example, a list 14 of one or more trusted websites 16 on the Internet. Such trusted websites 16 may include, for example, websites that have been determined to be reliable sources of information by a community of users (e.g., an analyst community). Each trusted website 16 may be scored, rated, and/or prioritized by a ranking system 18 for reliability and/or trustworthiness based on a number of ranking factors 20, at least some of which may be set by a user. The ranking factors 20 may include, for example, total page views for the website, expertise of the author(s) of the data presented on the website, comments regarding the data presented on the website, crowd-sourced ratings of the website, number of times the data presented on the website has been shared, reputation of the entity associated with the website (e.g., based on Forrester Reports, McKinsey Reports, etc.), other crowd-sourcing metrics, and/or the like.
It would have been obvious to one of ordinary skill in the art before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to modify application 18/554,311 to obtain above limitation based on the teachings of Cama for the purpose of generating written content from knowledge management systems, see [0015]
Application 18/554,311 discloses elements of the claimed invention as noted but does not disclose a rewriting process of rewriting the target text with use of the high-
quality documents selected based on the quality ranks. However, 18/554,311 discloses
a rewriting process of rewriting the target text with use of the document, Furthermore, 18/554,311 does not disclose a rewriting process of rewriting the target text with use of the high-
quality documents selected based on the quality ranks. However, Brockett discloses:
Brockett claim 7, The system of claim 1, wherein updating the source document comprises: displaying at least a part of the generated output for the source application; receiving a user indication to approve the generated output for the source application; and in response to receiving the user indication to approve the generated output, updating the source document using the generated output for the source document.
It would have been obvious to one of ordinary skill in the art before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to modify application 18/554,311 to obtain above limitation based on the teachings of Brockett for the purpose of multidirectional generative editing, see abstract.

[0059] In step 204, a cue word is generated based on the target text, the cue word is input into an LLM model carried on the agent, the LLM model performs logical reasoning based on the cue word, splits the operation intent into at least one sub-task, and perform a task orchestration for the at least one sub-task to generate a target text sequence including a task description text corresponding to each of the at least one sub-task.

[0103] Additionally, as shown in FIG. 10, the document transformation system 106 includes the query generation manager 1010. The query generation manager 1010 manages the generation of queries for input to a language machine learning model to generate a transformed document. In particular, the query generation manager 1010 utilizes query generation language machine learning model 1012 to iteratively refine a target text prompt and generate a text transformation prompt for a language machine learning model 1014. In some embodiments, the query generation manager 1010 iteratively improves the text transformation prompt utilizing Beysian methods. In one or more embodiments, the query generation manager 1010 generates a text transformation prompt which is used by the document transformation manager 1016 to populate placeholders within the target document based on the document hierarchy and named entity classifications.
