Office Action

§112
DETAILED ACTION Notice of AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112 Claims 9 – 11 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention. Claim 9 recites the limitation "the cathode electrode of the plurality of light emitting elements” at Lines 3 – 4 where antecedent basis for this limitation is not clear because a cathode electrode is provided for each light emitting element at Lines 5 – 6 of Claim 1 and it is not clear as which of the plural cathode electrodes that “the cathode electrode” refers back to. Claim 10 recites the limitation "the cathode electrode” at Line 3 where antecedent basis for this limitation is not clear because a cathode electrode is provided for each light emitting element at Lines 5 – 6 of Claim 1 and it is not clear as which of the plural cathode electrodes that “the cathode electrode” refers back to. Note that Claim 11 falls rejected with Claim 10 due to dependency and the further recitation of “the cathode electrode” at Line 3. Allowable Subject Matter In the prior art of record, Liu et el. (United States Patent Application Publication US 2021/0157188 A1, Cited by the Examiner in parent application 17/977,930) teaches “A [ ] display device” (Figure 8 and Paragraph [0097] (Notice that an array substrate with display area A shown in Figure 8 provided a display device.)), “comprising: a substrate including a transmissive area and a non-transmissive area” (Figure 8, Item 40 ‘insulating layer’, and Paragraphs [0104] – [0105] (Notice the insulating layer 40 provides a substrate with an area between pixel electrodes 140 that provides a bulk a material capable of light transmission and an area at an absence of material where pixel electrodes 140 are provided, where the area at an absence of material in non-transmissive.)), “a touch sensor in the transmissive area” (Figure 8, Items 30 ‘touch electrode” (Notice that a touch sensor is provided by touch electrodes 30, where at least a portion of touch electrodes 30 are provided in the transmissive area between pixel electrodes 140 in insulting substrate 40.)), “a pixel in the non-transmissive area over the substrate” (Figure 8, Items 111, 112, and 113 (Notice that sub-pixels 111, 112, and 113 providing a pixel, are provided in the non-transmissive areas of 40 that include pixel electrodes 140.)), “the pixel including a plurality of light emitting elements” (Figure 8 (Notice that each pixel includes plural light emitting elements 111, 112, and 113.)), “a first touch line [ ] extending in the first direction” (Figure 8, Item 131 ‘first touch electrode line’ (Notice that first touch electrode line 131 extending in a first top to bottom direction.), “and a second touch line [ ] extending in the first direction” (Figure 8, Item 132 ‘second touch electrode line’ (Notice the second touch line 132 extending in the first top to bottom direction.)), and “a scan line extending from the non-transmissive area in a second direction, the scan line configured to supply a scan signal to each of the plurality of light emitting elements” (Figure 8, Item 102 ‘gate line’ (Notice that gate line 102 provides a scan line which extends in a second left to right direction from the non-transmissive area.)), “wherein a first area in which the first touch line and the scan line overlap each other has a different size from a second area in which the second touch line and the scan line overlap each other” (Figure 8 (Notice that a second area where the second touch line 132 and scan line 102 can be chosen to have a larger area than a first area where the first touch line 131 and scan line 102 overlap. In other words, the entire area of overlap of the second area is larger than a smaller chosen area of overlap for the first area.)). However, Liu fails to disclose where the display device is a “transparent” display device where the broadest reasonable interpretation of “transparent display device” is a display device that allows an image positioned at a second major surface of the display device to be seen as it exists at the second major surface while viewership is at a first major surface of the display device and fails to disclose “each of the plurality of light emitting elements including an anode electrode, a light emitting layer and a cathode electrode” which can be obtained from Shin et al. (United States Patent Application Publication US 2021/0202680 A1, cited by the Examiner in parent application 17/977,930) and combined as shown in the history of prosecution of parent application 17/977,930. However, Liu and Shin further fail to disclose/teach “a pixel power line extending from the non-transmissive area in a first direction, the pixel power line configured to supply a first power source to the anode electrode of each of the plurality of light emitting elements” and a first touch line and a second touch line “between the pixel power line and the transmissive area” with a general mention of parasitic capacitance due to overlap between gate connection lines and auxiliary touch lines in the prior art of Yoshida (Paragraph [0093], last 4 lines, United States Patent Application Publication US 2021/0173506 A1). Therefore, the subject matter of Claims 1 – 8 and 12 is allowable of the prior art of record.
