DETAILED ACTION
This is an Office action based on application number 17/419,719 filed 28 June 2021, which is a national stage entry of PCT/KR2020/001107 filed 22 January 2020, which claims priority to KR10-2019-0010028 filed 25 January 2019. Claims 1, 3, and 10-15 are pending. Claims 12-15 are withdrawn. Claims 2 and 4-9 are canceled.
Amendments to the claims, filed 25 March 2026, have been entered into the above-identified application.
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Withdrawn Rejections
The prior art rejections, made of record in the previous Office action are withdrawn due to Applicant’s amendments.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b):
(b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention.
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph:
The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention.
Claims 1, 3, and 10-11 rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention.
Claim 1 recites the limitation “wherein the acrylic polymer comprises behenyl methacrylate as an alkyl(meth)acrylate monomer having 10 or more carbon atoms as a monomer unit” in lines 8-9. The limitation is indefinite because it is unclear if it requires additional alkyl(meth)acrylate monomers having 10 or more carbon atoms as a monomer unit other than the explicitly recited behenyl methacrylate.
Claim 1 further recites the limitation “the acrylic comprises a 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate as a (meth)acrylate monomer comprising a hydroxyl group as a monomer unit. The limitation is indefinite because it is unclear if it requires additional (meth)acrylate monomers comprising hydroxyl groups other than the explicitly recited 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate.
Claims 3 and 10-11 do not remedy the deficiencies of parent claim 1, and are rejected under the same rationale.
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 1, 3, and 10-11 would be allowable if rewritten or amended to overcome the rejection(s) under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA ), 2nd paragraph, set forth in this Office action.
Specifically, none of the prior art references, neither alone nor in combination, disclose an adhesive composition comprising an acrylic polymer comprising behenyl methacrylate as a monomer.
