§102
DETAILED ACTION This communication is a first Office Action Non-Final rejection on the merits. Claims 1 and 2 as originally filed are pending and have been considered below. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claim(s) 1 and 2, are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by Coar (WO 2006/138224). Regarding claim 1, Coar teaches a concrete slab (concrete structure; abstract), comprising a mesh (3) made of glass fibers (fiberglass; col. 12, line 14) and concrete (col. 8, line 9). Regarding claim 2, Coar teaches a method of making a concrete slab (method for shaping the woven fabric within a concrete formwork; col. 17, line 10), comprising of steps taken in the order recited of: a first step of building or placing a concrete form or mold (formwork; col. 16, line 18), a second step of placing a mesh (3) made of fiberglass (col. 12, line 14) in the mold (col. 17, line 4), a third step of pouring concrete into the mold (col. 17, lines 9-10), and a fourth step of letting the concrete dry (allowed to cure; col. 8, lines 10-11). Conclusion The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure. The cited patents listed on the included form PTO-892 further show the state of the art with respect to reinforced concrete in general.
