DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102
In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status.
The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action:
A person shall be entitled to a patent unless –
(a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
(a)(2) the claimed invention was described in a patent issued under section 151, or in an application for patent published or deemed published under section 122(b), in which the patent or application, as the case may be, names another inventor and was effectively filed before the effective filing date of the claimed invention.
Claims 1 and 23 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1)/(a)(2) as being anticipated by US Patent Application Publication No. 2021/0098300 to Kusunoki et al.
Regarding claims 1 and 23, Kusunoki et al. teach A display substrate and manufacturing method (Figs. 17A – 18B, for example), comprising:
a base substrate (4001), wherein the base substrate comprises a display region (113) and peripheral regions (111a, 111b, 112a, 112b) located at a periphery of the display region (Figs. 3A and 3B), the display region (161) comprises at least two display sub-regions (161A1, 161A2, 161B1, 161B2), wherein the display substrate further comprises:
a plurality of scanning lines (GLA_1, GLB_1), wherein the plurality of scanning lines comprise a plurality of first scanning lines (GLA_1/GLB_1 – GLA_m/GLB_m), the first scanning line comprise at least two scanning line segments which are independent from each other (GLA_1 TO GLA_m AND GLB_1 TO GLB_m), and the at least two scanning line segments are located in different display sub-regions(161a1/161b1 AND 161a2/161b2); and
a plurality of sub-pixels (165), wherein the plurality of sub-pixels are divided into a plurality of rows of sub-pixels, the plurality of rows of sub-pixels comprise a target row of sub- pixels, the target row of sub-pixels are divided into at least two sub-pixel groups, the at least two sub-pixel groups are located in different display sub-regions, and a scanning line segment of the at least two scanning line segments is coupled to each sub-pixel in a corresponding sub-pixel group belonging to a same display sub-region (Figs. 3B and 4B).
Allowable Subject Matter
Claims 2, 3, 5, 7 – 11, 13 – 21, and 24 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims.
Conclusion
The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure. US Patent No. 12,230,182 to Wei et al. teach a display substrate comprising a base substrate comprising a display region and peripheral region and plurality of scanning lines. Wei et al. do not teach the at least two sub-pixel groups are located in different display sub-regions, and a scanning line segment of the at least two scanning line segments is coupled to each sub-pixel in a corresponding sub-pixel group belonging to a same display sub-region.
