DETAILED ACTION
Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status
The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA .
Priority
1. Acknowledgment is made of applicant’s claim for PCT based on an application filed on 05/08/2020.
Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 103
The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 103 which forms the basis for all obviousness rejections set forth in this Office action:
A patent for a claimed invention may not be obtained, notwithstanding that the claimed invention is not identically disclosed as set forth in section 102, if the differences between the claimed invention and the prior art are such that the claimed invention as a whole would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains. Patentability shall not be negated by the manner in which the invention was made.
2. Claim(s) 1-25 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 as being unpatentable over Ge et al (U.S.PGPUB 2021/0345237) and further in view of Xing et al (U.S.2022/0103990).
As per claims 1,13,25 Ge disclosed a method performed by a vehicle to everything, V2X, application enabler, VAE, client of a client device, the method comprising:
receiving a session-oriented service request from a vehicle to everything, V2X, application enabler, VAE, server, the session-oriented service request including an identity of the VAE client, an identity of a session, and a reporting configuration [Application function (AF) entity: The AF entity is configured to influence data routing, access a network exposure function network element, interact with a policy framework to perform policy control, or the like. For example, the AF entity may be a V2X application server, including a V2X application enabler (VAE) server, or may be a drone server (which may include a drone supervision server or a drone application service server)] (Paragraph. 0101);
transmitting a session-oriented service response to the VAE server indicating approval of the session-oriented service request [V2X communication data needs to be transmitted on a mobile operator network. For another example, a communication mode that is based only on a PC5 interface, which may also be referred to as a PC5 communication mode or a PC5 interface communication mode, and represents that communication is performed using a PC5 interface technology, that is, the communication is direct communication, and V2X communication data is directly transmitted between terminal devices (V2X terminal devices)] (Paragraph. 0112); and
Ge did not explicitly disclose, “Providing a session-oriented service establish notification to a V2X application specific client”.
In the same field of endeavor Xing disclosed, “The SMF is used for session management, IP address allocation and management of the terminal, selection and management of a user plane function, a termination point of a policy control and charging function interface, downlink data notification, and the like. The PCF is configured to: manage a network behavior, and provide a parameter related to a UE policy for the terminal, a parameter related to an access and mobility (AM) policy for the AMF, and a parameter related to a session management (SM) policy for the SMF. In a V2X scenario, the PCF provides information such as V2X-related authentication and policy parameters for the terminal and the access network device.” (Paragraph. 0111-0112).
It would have been obvious to one having ordinary skill in the art before the effective filing date was made to have incorporated The SMF is used for session management, IP address allocation and management of the terminal, selection and management of a user plane function, a termination point of a policy control and charging function interface, downlink data notification, and the like. The PCF is configured to: manage a network behavior, and provide a parameter related to a UE policy for the terminal, a parameter related to an access and mobility (AM) policy for the AMF, and a parameter related to a session management (SM) policy for the SMF. In a V2X scenario, the PCF provides information such as V2X-related authentication and policy parameters for the terminal and the access network device” as taught by Xing in the method and system of Ge to enhance the efficiency of the session communication services.
3. As per claims 2,14 Ge-Xing disclosed further comprising: receiving a session-oriented service change request from the VAE server; transmitting a session-oriented service change response to the VAE server indicating acceptance of the session-oriented service change request; and providing a session-oriented service change notification to the V2X application-specific client (Ge, Paragraph. 0229).
4. As per claims 3,15 Ge-Xing disclosed wherein the session-oriented service change request includes updates requirements or change in server information (Ge, Paragraph. 0125).
5. As per claims 4,16 Ge-Xing disclosed wherein the updates requirements comprise change of network requirements or change of Quality of Service, QoS, requirements (Ge, Paragraph. 0042).
6. As per claims 5,17 Ge-Xing disclosed further comprising: transmitting a session-oriented service change request to the VAE server, the session-oriented service change request comprising one or more updates to service information or a change in server information (Ge, Paragraph. 0028-0029); and receiving a session-oriented service change response from the VAE server indicating acceptance of the session-oriented service change request (Ge, Paragraph. 0311)).
7. As per claims 6,18 Ge-Xing disclosed wherein the session-oriented service change request includes updates to service information, updates to requirements or updates to server information (Ge, Paragraph. 0023)).
8. As per claims 7,19 Ge-Xing disclosed wherein the updates to service information comprises updates to activated services or updates to vehicle trajectory (Ge, Paragraph. 0043).
9. As per claims 8,20 Ge-Xing disclosed further comprising: receiving a session-oriented service termination request from the VAE server; transmitting a session-oriented service termination response to the VAE server indicating acceptance of the session-oriented service termination request; and providing a session-oriented service termination notification to the V2X application-specific client (Ge, Paragraph. 0093 & 0233).
10. As per claims 9,21 Ge-Xing disclosed wherein the session-oriented service termination request indicates an end of the session with the VAE server or that requirements for the session-oriented service are not satisfied (Ge, Paragraph. 0093 & 0233).
11. As per claims 10,22 Ge-Xing disclosed further comprising: transmitting a session-oriented service termination request to the VAE server; and receiving a session-oriented service termination response from the VAE server indicating acceptance of the session-oriented service termination request (Ge, Paragraph. 0238).
12. As per claims 11,23 Ge-Xing disclosed wherein transmitting the session-oriented service termination request comprises transmitting the session-oriented service termination request responsive to receiving a session-oriented service termination trigger request from the V2X application-specific client (Ge, Paragraph. 0108).
13. As per claims 11,24 Ge-Xing disclosed wherein the client device is a vehicle-to everything user equipment, V2X UE or a vehicle (Ge, Paragraph. 0108).
