Office Action

§102
DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Priority Receipt is acknowledged of certified copies of papers required by 37 CFR 1.55. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA ) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status. The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. Claim(s) 1-4 is/are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102(a)(1) as being anticipated by KR 10-2019-0135237 (Sang) Sang discloses, referring primarily to figure 1, a circuit board comprising: a first insulating layer (110); a first circuit pattern layer (122) disposed on one surface of the first insulating layer; a second insulating layer (130) disposed on the one surface of the first insulating layer and including a cavity (C); and a through electrode (126) disposed in a through hole passing through the first insulating layer, wherein the first circuit pattern layer includes a first pattern part including a portion vertically overlapping an inner wall of the cavity, and wherein the through electrode includes a first through electrode disposed in a first through hole vertically overlapping the first pattern part [claim 1], wherein an upper surface of the first pattern part is directly connected to a lower end of the inner wall of the cavity [claim 2], further comprising: a second circuit pattern layer (124) disposed on the other surface of the first insulating layer, and wherein at least a portion of the second circuit pattern layer vertically overlaps the first through electrode [claim 3], wherein the first pattern part includes: a first portion vertically overlapping the inner wall of the cavity and having an upper surface in contact with the second insulating layer, and a second portion extending from the first portion and having an upper surface not in contact with the second insulating layer [claim 4]. Allowable Subject Matter Claims 5-10 are objected to as being dependent upon a rejected base claim, but would be allowable if rewritten in independent form including all of the limitations of the base claim and any intervening claims. The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter: Claim 5 states the limitation “wherein a thickness of the first portion of the first pattern part is thicker than a thickness of the second portion of the first pattern part.” This limitation, in conjunction with the other claimed features, was neither found to be disclosed in, nor suggested by the prior art.
