CTNF 18/867,812 CTNF 86084 DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status 07-03-aia AIA 15-10-aia The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112 Claim 1 is rejected under 35 U.S.C 112(b) as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor regards as the invention. Claim 1 recites, in pertinent part, “wherein at least one of a radial thickness of a hollow cylinder of the winding frame and a thickness of a flange of the winding frame is greater than or equal to a first skin thickness and less than or equal to a second skin thickness.” It is unclear whether: Only the radial thickness of the hollow cylinder must satisfy the recited thickness range. Only the thickness of the flange must satisfy the recited thickness range. Both the radial thickness of the hollow cylinder and the thickness of the flange must satisfy the recited thickness range. Further, claim 1 recites: “a first skin thickness” and “a second skin thickness”. It is unclear whether whether the first and second thicknesses correspond to: The hollow cylinder The flange The winding frame as a whole A skin depth associated with an electromagnetic field, or Another structure of physical parameter Claims 2-9 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112 because they depend from claim 1, which is rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112. Claims 1-9 are rejected under 35 U.S.C 112 for the reasons set forth above. The prior art of record fails to disclose or render obvious the claimed subject matter. Accordingly, upon overcoming the outstanding 35 U.S.C. 112 rejection, the application would be in condition for allowance.
