CTNF 18/888,464 CTNF 75554 DETAILED ACTION 07-03-aia AIA 15-10-aia The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA. Priority 02-27 AIA Acknowledgment is made of applicant’s claim for foreign priority under 35 U.S.C. 119 (a)-(d). The certified copy has been filed in parent Application No. 17/477,695 , filed on 09/17/2021 . Information Disclosure Statement The information disclosure statement (IDS) submitted on 09/18/2024 and 11/22/2024 was filed and considered by the examiner. Specification 06-31 AIA The lengthy specification has not been checked to the extent necessary to determine the presence of all possible minor errors. Applicant’s cooperation is requested in correcting any errors of which applicant may become aware in the specification. Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 102 07-06 AIA 15-10-15 In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103 (or as subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 102 and 103) is incorrect, any correction of the statutory basis (i.e., changing from AIA to pre-AIA) for the rejection will not be considered a new ground of rejection if the prior art relied upon, and the rationale supporting the rejection, would be the same under either status. 07-07-aia AIA 07-07 The following is a quotation of the appropriate paragraphs of 35 U.S.C. 102 that form the basis for the rejections under this section made in this Office action: A person shall be entitled to a patent unless – 07-08-aia AIA (a)(1) the claimed invention was patented, described in a printed publication, or in public use, on sale, or otherwise available to the public before the effective filing date of the claimed invention. 07-15 AIA Claim s 1 and 3-8 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 102( a)(1 ) as being anticipated by Sonobe et al., TW 201433860 A . Claim 1 is anticipated by Sonobe et al. figures 1-4 and accompanying text which discloses an apparatus 1 for manufacturing a display device, comprising: . a stage 2 . a bonding unit 8 disposed on the stage 2 and comprising a position detection sensor 9, a resin supply unit 3, and a light irradiation unit 10 . a fixing unit 41 disposed closer to the stage 2 than the bonding unit is to fix a target member 101, wherein the target member 101 is a display module (Abstract) inherently comprising an active area and a peripheral area, a first flexible circuit board disposed in the peripheral area near a side edge of the display panel, a window disposed on the display panel, and an optical film disposed between the display panel and the window. Re claim 3, wherein the light irradiation unit provides an ultraviolet light (e.g., UV curable resin 110). Re claim 4, wherein the position detection sensor 9 and the resin supply unit 3 maintain a first distance from each other while moving (fig. 3). Re claim 5, wherein the resin supply unit 3 and the light irradiation unit 10 maintain a second distance from each other while moving, and wherein the second distance is smaller than the first distance (fig. 3). Re claim 6, wherein the resin supply unit 3 disposed between the position detection sensor 9 and the light irradiation unit 10 (in processing order). Re claim 7, wherein the resin supply unit provides a polymer resin (e.g., resin). Re claim 8, wherein the resin supply unit comprises light-curing material (e.g., UV curable resin) . Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 103 07-06 AIA 15-10-15 In the event the determination of the status of the application as subject to AIA 35 U.S.C. 07-20-aia AIA The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 103 which forms the basis for all obviousness rejections set forth in this Office action: A patent for a claimed invention may not be obtained, notwithstanding that the claimed invention is not identically disclosed as set forth in section 102, if the differences between the claimed invention and the prior art are such that the claimed invention as a whole would have been obvious before the effective filing date of the claimed invention to a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the claimed invention pertains. Patentability shall not be negated by the manner in which the invention was made. 07-21-aia AIA Claim 2 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. 103 as being unpatentable over Sonobe et al., TW 201433860 A . Re claim 2, Sonobe et al. disclose the claimed invention as described above except for the position detection sensor is a laser sensor that senses a coating path between the window and the display panel using a laser beam. It would have been obvious to one of ordinary skill in the art before the effective filling date of the claimed invention to employ a laser sensor over the Sonobe et al. position detection sensor, since it was known in the art for detecting purposes such as detecting coating path between the window and the display panel by laser beam as claimed.
