Office Action

§101
DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA . Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 101 35 U.S.C. 101 reads as follows: Whoever invents or discovers any new and useful process, machine, manufacture, or composition of matter, or any new and useful improvement thereof, may obtain a patent therefor, subject to the conditions and requirements of this title. Claim 15 is rejected under 35 U.S.C. 101 because the claimed invention is directed to non-statutory subject matter. The claim(s) does/do not fall within at least one of the four categories of patent eligible subject matter because the claim is directed to software per se. Claim Objections Claim 14 is objected to because of the following informalities: Regarding claim 14, line 9, “the server” should be changed to --a server--. Appropriate correction is required. Allowable Subject Matter Claims 1-14 are allowed. The following is an examiner’s statement of reasons for allowance: Regarding claims 1 and 14, the prior art generally teaches correction systems having a terminal apparatus comprising a three-axis angular speed sensor, a three-axis acceleration sensor, and a GNSS positioning unit, wherein the terminal apparatus comprises a communication unit for transmitting a first output value of the three-axis angular speed sensor, a second output value of the three-axis acceleration sensor, and a positioning result of the GNSS positioning unit to a server, wherein the server uses the first output value, the second output value, and the positioning result to search for an offset and/or a sensitivity coefficient of the three-axis angular speed sensor and an offset and/or a sensitivity coefficient of the three-axis acceleration sensor. See Liu (CN 113008273 A), Fei et al. (CN 112461269 A), Jia et al. (CN 112130188 B), and Kamoshita et al. (JP 2013-117493). The prior art fails to teach or provide motivation for wherein the server searches for and transmits the first through fourth initial values and the first through fourth initial tolerable ranges back to the terminal apparatus, wherein the terminal apparatus new output values and positioning results to search for the offset and sensitivity coefficients of the three-axis angular speed sensor and three-axis accelerometer based on tolerable ranges narrower than the initial tolerable ranges received in order to derive an angular speed, in combination with the rest of the limitations found in the claims. Regarding claims 2-13, they are dependent on claim 1. Any comments considered necessary by applicant must be submitted no later than the payment of the issue fee and, to avoid processing delays, should preferably accompany the issue fee. Such submissions should be clearly labeled “Comments on Statement of Reasons for Allowance.” Conclusion Any inquiry concerning this communication or earlier communications from the examiner should be directed to DAVID Z HUANG whose telephone number is (571)270-5360. The examiner can normally be reached Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST. Examiner interviews are available via telephone, in-person, and video conferencing using a USPTO supplied web-based collaboration tool.
