CTNF 18/453,190 CTNF 90543 DETAILED ACTION Notice of Pre-AIA or AIA Status 07-03-aia AIA 15-10-aia The present application, filed on or after March 16, 2013, is being examined under the first inventor to file provisions of the AIA. Priority 02-27 Acknowledgment is made of applicant’s claim for foreign priority under 35 U.S.C. 119 (a)-(d). The certified copy has been filed on September 22, 2023 Information Disclosure Statement The information disclosure statement (IDS) submitted on August 21, 2023 is being considered by the examiner. Election/Restrictions Applicant’s election without traverse of Method embodiment 1 (Fig. 5, claims 1-9) in the reply filed on January 20, 206 is acknowledged. Furthermore, claims 15-22 are introduced in the response but since they depend on non-elected claims 10 and 13 they will not be considered. Specification 06-11 AIA The title of the invention is not descriptive. A new title is required that is clearly indicative of the invention to which the claims are directed. 06-11-01 AIA The following title is suggested: Method of Fabricating Display Panel Comprising Flux Bonding Prevention . Claim Rejections - 35 USC § 112 07-30-02 AIA The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112(b): (b) CONCLUSION.—The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor regards as the invention. The following is a quotation of 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA), second paragraph: The specification shall conclude with one or more claims particularly pointing out and distinctly claiming the subject matter which the applicant regards as his invention. 07-34-01 Claims 1-9 are rejected under 35 U.S.C. 112(b) or 35 U.S.C. 112 (pre-AIA), second paragraph, as being indefinite for failing to particularly point out and distinctly claim the subject matter which the inventor or a joint inventor (or for applications subject to pre-AIA 35 U.S.C. 112, the applicant), regards as the invention. Claim 1 recites the limitation "the transfer member picked up by the transfer head" in lines: 5-6. There is insufficient antecedent basis for this limitation in the claim. This also further complicates future reference of “the transfer member” as it is unclear if “transfer member” of lines: 8-13 refer to the original transfer member of line 3 that is picked up by the transfer head or the transfer member before it is picked up. Allowable Subject Matter Claims 1-9 would be allowed if rewritten to overcome the 112 rejection above. 13-03-01 AIA The following is a statement of reasons for the indication of allowable subject matter: the closest prior art of record, Bibl (US 2013/0210194), Hu (US 2013/0130440), Bibl (US Pat. No. 8,791,474) , fail to disclose (by themselves or in combination) the following limitations in combination with the rest of the claim: Regarding Claim 1 (from which claims 2-9 depend) , detaching the transfer member from the transfer head; bonding the light-emitting element attached to the transfer member onto the circuit board; and separating, by the transfer head, the transfer member from the light-emitting element bonded to the circuit board to remove the transfer member Conclusion 07-96 AIA The prior art made of record and not relied upon is considered pertinent to applicant's disclosure. Bibl (US 2013/0210194) discloses (Figs. 3A-3J) a method of fabricating a display panel, the method comprising: picking up (Fig. 3A), by (under broadest reasonable interpretation (BRI) 206 picks up 204 which is on 200 ) a transfer head ( 206 , transfer head assembly, Para [0029]), a transfer member ( 204 , electrostatic transfer heads, Para [0029]) located on ( 204 is on 200 ) a support member ( 200 , substrate, Para [0029]); detaching (Figs. 3B-3C) a light-emitting element ( 150 , micro LED device, Para [0023]) from a donor substrate ( 101 , carrier substrate, Para [0024]) by attaching the transfer member ( 204 ) picked up by the transfer head ( 206 ) to the light-emitting element on the donor substrate to lift the light-emitting element (as seen in Figs. 3B-3C 204 is attached to 150 and lifted of 101 ); aligning (Figs. 3D-3F), by the transfer head ( 206 ), the light-emitting element ( 150 ) attached to the transfer member ( 204 ) on ( 150 attached to 204 is aligned to 300 , Para [0032]) a circuit board ( 300 , receiving substrate, Para [0032]). Bibl does not disclose detaching the transfer member from the transfer head; bonding the light-emitting element attached to the transfer member onto the circuit board; and separating, by the transfer head, the transfer member from the light-emitting element bonded to the circuit board to remove the transfer member. Hu (US 2013/0130440) discloses a transfer head 200 picking up LEDs 150 and depositing them on a new substrate 300 . Hu does not disclose detaching the transfer member from the transfer head; bonding the light-emitting element attached to the transfer member onto the circuit board; and separating, by the transfer head, the transfer member from the light-emitting element bonded to the circuit board to remove the transfer member Bibl (US Pat. No. 8,791,474) discloses transfer head 302 picking up light emitting elements 400 and placing 400 on new circuit 102 , in which the head is then removed. Bibl does not disclose detaching the transfer member from the transfer head; bonding the light-emitting element attached to the transfer member onto the circuit board; and separating, by the transfer head, the transfer member from the light-emitting element bonded to the circuit board to remove the transfer member Any inquiry concerning this communication or earlier communications from the examiner should be directed to GUSTAVO G RAMALLO whose telephone number is (571)272-9227.
